Curtis Mayfield – Sweet Exorcist

Halfway point of the Week of Soul.

Curtis Mayfield put together a lon run of good albums in the 1970’s. He danced around the soul/funk spectrum ranging from the straight funk style of “Superfly,” to the other side of that spectrum, “Sweet Exorcist.” There is Still funk influence, but it’s Mayfield’s most soulful offering since the Impressions days.

Standout tracks include, “Kung Fu,” “Suffer,” “To Be Invisible” & the title track.
