Time capsule music. Don Bryant released his debut solo album in 1969, and the follow up, “Don’t Give Up On Love,” wasn’t released until earlier this year. That’s a 48 year gap, although if you just listened to the follow up, you’d probably assume it was released in 1970.
Bryant has the classic Memphis sound on display on this one, a beautiful mix of soul and blues.
Standout tracks include, “Nickel And A Nail,” “It Was Jealously,” “How Do I Get There?” and “First You Cry.”
