EW&F is like a good music factory. They know what works, they’re good at it and they don’t deviate from it too often. That machine is well oiled, even to this day. I saw them at Pepsi Center a couple of months ago and it was the most polished performance of any I’ve seen from these older acts.
The group might have albums more critically acclaimed or commercially successful than “That’s The Way Of The World,” but the soundtrack of the 1975 film with the same name is my favorite. It is more focused than their other projects, with the constraint of staying within the vibe of the movie, and the result is beautiful.
Standout tracks include one of my favorite songs of all time in the title track, “Reasons,” “Shining Star” and “Africano.”
