The Jack Moves' self-titled album was one of my favorites from a couple of years back. It's as if the album appeared out of a time machine from the mid-60s. Most of the new albums I recommend here will have an interesting clash of classic and contemporary. This album does not. It is straight retro soul music, and surprisingly well done from a couple of newcomers.
The Jack Moves have yet to release anything since their 2015 debut, and I don't know of any plans for a follow up. Unless there is a breakthrough hit song or a more heralded album coming from the band, this album seems destined to be a hidden gem stumbled upon by a future generation's version of aslongasitsgroovin.com.
Standout tracks include, "Day & Night," "Doublin' Down," "Make Love," and "All My Love."
