This album is a big reason why I wanted to start this site. I had never heard of these guys. And for good reason; I'm pretty sure their first album was more British Pop than anything else. I listened to their second album, "Favourite Worry" on Apple Music on a whim. And if I hadn't have done that, this album probably never would've been in my life.
It becomes even more of a minor miracle when I tell you it wasn't even the first album I blind listened to that day, or the second, or the third. I was jumping around listening to a couple songs off albums, trying to find something that caught my ear. The first track on the album, "Wanderlust" did just that.
The album is a beautiful blend of funk, soul, pop and acoustic singer/songwriter. It's the type of album that anyone, no matter their musical preference, will be able to find moments they love. And for those that share my musical sensibilities, it's 45 minutes of pure, melancholy joy.
Outside of "Wanderlust," standout songs include, "No Interruptions," "Trouble Gonna Bring Me Down," and the title track.
